Five Borough Games
Basketball. Tennis. Track. Swimming. Soccer. Volleyball. Athletes from every corner of the city, one competition, all five boroughs on the same map.
A citywide amateur sporting event bringing all five boroughs of New York City together to compete in basketball, tennis, track, swimming, soccer and volleyball.
The Sports
Six sports in the first Games, chosen because we can run them properly.
Basketball
Five-on-five, borough-seeded brackets, played on courts across the city.
Tennis
Singles and doubles draws on public hard courts.
Track
Sprints, middle distance and relays — including the borough-vs-borough anchor leg.
Swimming
Freestyle, medley and relay events in city pools.
Soccer
Full-sided and small-sided competition on public pitches and turf fields.
Volleyball
Indoor sixes and outdoor doubles on sand.
More sports will join as the Games grow. Tell us what you want to compete in.
About the Games
The Five Borough Games are built on a simple idea: New York is one city, and it should get to compete like one.
Too much of amateur sport in New York happens in silos — a league here, a club there, a pickup game that never leaves its own zip code. The Games pull those threads together into a single event where a swimmer from Staten Island, a sprinter from the Bronx and a point guard from Bed-Stuy are all part of the same weekend.
Every athlete competes for their borough. Entry is open to anyone who lives, works or studies in New York City, across three divisions built so that the level of play matches what you actually want out of it — whether that is a real shot at a title or a good reason to get back in the pool.
We are a volunteer-led effort in our first year, working with community organizations, coaches and public facilities across the city. If that sounds like something you want to be part of, there are more ways in than competing.

Service notice
Nothing on the calendar yet.
We are still locking in dates, venues and permits with the city. Rather than post something we would have to change, we would rather tell you the moment it is real. Leave your email and you will hear about the schedule, registration opening and volunteer calls before anyone else.
